Dr W. B. Asiru has dedicated himself in pursuing research aiming at ensuring food security, poverty reduction and improved income to farmers and small-scale processors through development of novel processing techniques and equipment and machineries which reduces drudgery and improved processing that greatly affects Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) positively and assist Nigeria economic growth. He served as consultants to Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), donor agencies and contributed immensely to capacity building in agricultural value chain. At Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO), He won and coordinated a number of local and international research grants from donor agencies like BMGF (C:AVA I and II), WAAPP; African Union and European Union. He is the administrative secretary of National Cassava Processors and Marketers Association (NCAPMA), Trustee, Mushroom Farmers and Marketers Association of Nigeria, Member, Steering Group, Cassava Value Chain project in Nigeria GIAE/GIZ. He is a Registered Agricultural Engineer (COREN) and professional member of Nigeria Institution of Agricultural Engineers, Nigerian society of engineers, Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology, American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers Dr. W. B. Asiru has over 70 journal and conference publication in Local and International journal and conferences and contributed to chapters in 3 books. He also reviews for National and International journals.
