Mr Felix Anyiam is a Data Science Practitioner with at least 10 years’ experience working with different structures of data. He is also a trained Epidemiologist and Biostatistician in his day to day duties at the Centre for Health and Development (CHD), University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria; a Centre that evolved from over 10 years of collaboration between faculty members from the University of Port Harcourt and the University of Toronto, Canada. The aim of the CHD is to develop the human and organizational capacity for health-related research and quality health care provision in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, built on sustainable local structure, and international collaborations.
As the Research Officer and Data Analyst for the Centre, his everyday job involves solving social and urban problems by improving the response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic and other related healthcare challenges vital to the Niger Delta region in Nigeria, via increasing healthcare Evidence-Based Research practices that work.
Mr Anyiam is responsible for the smooth running of the university’s Research Centre, where he Coordinates operational and implementation research activities, collecting, collating, managing and storing of data, projects, as well as training, including facilitating several research ethics applications and assisting in the financial management of the center’s funding decisions. He is also responsible for sourcing new opportunities in ways the Centre can partner with other local and international organizations in the area of implementation research and capacity building.
