Brief Biography (English)

Dr Alonge hold a Bachelor's and a Masters in Agricultural Engineering with specialization in Crop Processing and Storage (aka Postharvest Technology). He also holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering with a special interest in Solar drying and by extension renewable energy. Other areas of his research are engineering properties of biological materials, oil extraction from oilseeds, storage of agricultural produce, and development of processing machines. He has well over 110 publications. He has supervised over 120 undergraduate and postgraduate students at the both University of Ilorin and the University of Uyo respectively. He has attended and presented papers in over sixty local and international conferences. He has been privileged to present over 20 invited keynote papers in conferences and seminars. He was a Visiting Professor to the Bioresources Engineering Department, McGill University, Canada (Jan-Feb 2016). He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), and Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (SESN). He is a member of the Canadian Society for Bioengineering (CSBE), American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (CIGR) and Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technologists (NIFST) as well as Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
