Professor KO Akinyemi received a postdoctoral fellowship at Universitat Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany (2005-2006) He had professional Certificates in molecular immunology, and Vaccinology from Universities of Ibadan and Ghana in collaboration with WHO in 2003 and 2007 respectively. He began his academic carrier as an Assistant Lecturer at Lagos State University (LASU) in 1995 and became the first Alumnus staff to attain the status of a Professor in 2011. He has held key academic and administrative positions at the University. Akinyemi KO piloted laudable research projects that had promoted academic co-operation through international contacts on emerging and re-emerging drug resistant-Salmonella isolates and other infectious diseases. He had engaged in several International collaborations in Germany, Canada, the United States of America that had resulted in technology transfer for the development of the Local and National hubs of research laboratories. He has won many grants and received several awards and distinguished Alumni Award. A Fellow Alexander von Humboldt, Germany and Fellow Royal Society for Public Health, UK, Member African-German Network of Excellence in Science, etc. A member of several National and International associations. He is a Director of LASU Directorate of Academic Linkages, Partnerships & Collaborations. He has over sixty publications to his credit.
