Brief Biography (English)

Mrs Adoukè Nadège Agbodjato, of Beninese nationality, holds a PhD in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology from the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC) in Benin thanks to a grant from the West African Agricultural Productivity Project (PPAAO-Benin). Currently, she is pursuing her postdoctoral research through a postdoctoral fellowship awarded by North West University (NWU). She is interested in plant-soil-microorganism interactions, mainly to understand the microbial communities present in the plant rhizosphere, in particular plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and their efficacy on crop growth and yield. She is also interested in chitosan, a chitin derivative extracted from crustacean exoskeletons, for its growth promoting and pathogen protective effects. Her current research focuses on the complete genome sequencing of PGPR strains isolated from corn soil rhizospheres and their effects on plant germination and growth. His development objective is to make available to agricultural producers in his country and in the sub-region biofertilisers or biostimulants that can sustainably improve agricultural production and reduce the excessive use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides. This research has already allowed her to be author and co-author of more than 30 scientific publications in peer-reviewed and impact journals. She has also participated in several conferences (Oral and Poster) at national and international level.
