Babajide Samuel Afolabi joined the services of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1998 after a brief stint in the industry as a developer. He got a French government cooperation scholarship in 2002 for postgraduate studies at the then Université Nancy 2, Nancy, France, now known as the Université Lorraine where he concluded studies lead to the award of a Diplôme d'Études Approfondies, DEA (M. Phil) in 2003. In view of his academic performance, his scholarship was then extended to cover a PhD in Information and Communication Sciences, a programme he concluded in 2007. After his studies, Babajide returned to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in May 2007. He was promoted to a Professor in Software Engineering in 2015. He is focused on developing software applications for enhanced Living. He is currently the Director of the University Computer Centre, a position he was appointed to in 2018.
