Dr Adebola Abosede Adeyi's area of specialization is Analytical/Environmental Chemistry. She obtained her PhD in September 2007, from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Dr Adeyi has Attended several conferences and Won Fellowships and Awards among which is the 60th Meeting of the Nobel Laureates, 3rd Interdisciplinary Meeting, Lindau, Germany, 2010; 26th International Conference on Solid Waste Technology and Management, Philadelphia, PA, USA, 2011; and 7th International Symposium on Recent Advances in POPs Analysis, Venice, Italy, 2012.
She was Awarded the Global Environment Outlook 5 (GEO-5) Fellow, United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), 2012; Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Postdoctoral Fellowship, Department of Chemistry, Rhodes University, South Africa in 2009 –2010; Advanced Analytical Techniques Related to Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Contaminated Site Identification, Regional Project to Develop Appropriate Strategies for Identifying Sites Contaminated by Chemicals Listed in Annexes A, B and/or C of the Stockholm Convention, Geoenvironmental Research Centre, Cardiff University, United Kingdom, February-March 2009, and April-May, 2012, respectively; TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme for Scientists from sub-Saharan Africa, Institute of Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, University of Ulm, Germany, June-September, 2013. Dr Adeyi received the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) ‘Future Leader in the Field’ Award in 2017. She Attended the 7th EuCheMS Chemistry Congress at the Arena and Convention Centre, Liverpool, United Kingdom in 2018.
Dr Adeyi was the Principal Investigator of the UNESCO/SIDA project on mapping and assessing the environmental and health impacts of abandoned mines in Sub-Saharan African Countries, 2015 - 2017 (2 years award); Setting Up of a Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) analysis laboratory, Geo-Environmental Research Centre; Local trainer for Nigeria, Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and GSK GC-MS hands-on training, 2016 till date.
She was the Convener of Celebrating the International Year of the Periodic Table, a Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Sponsored programme, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, in December 2019. Dr Adeyi has been a Research Associate and the Laboratory Manager (volunteering) at the Basel Convention Coordinating Centre for Training and Technology Transfer for the African Region, Federal Ministry of Environment - University of Ibadan Linkage Centre for Cleaner Production Technology and Hazardous Waste Management (BCCC-Africa), 2009 till date.
