Prof Olalere Gabriel Adeyemi is a Nigerian and studied at the University of Ibadan, where he obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry in 1988, following in 1991, with an MSc degree in Analytical Chemistry in the same University. He continued his post-graduate work at the University of Ilorin where he successfully defended his PhD in 1999 and was awarded the PhD degree in Chemistry (Organometallics) in 2000. His bench work toward the PhD degree was carried out at the Structural Chemistry Laboratory, Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, utilizing a Taiwanese National Science Council Research Assistance under Professor Ling-Kang, Liu in 1997 to 1999. After a lecturing stint at University of Ilorin, he proceeded to School of Chemistry, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, for a post-doctoral fellowship in 2001 under Professor Neil J. Coville. In 2007, he also won a research fellowship by the DST and NRF of South Africa, tenable at School of Chemistry, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg under Professor N.J. Coville. He was a two-time recipient of The World Academy of Science (TWAS) visiting scholar in the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, China under Professor Jinkui Tang. DFG Fellowship took him to Prof. Winfried Plass in Jena, Germany, in 2019. He is a member of several professional bodies and external examiner to many universities. He was the immediate past Dean of Sciences, Redeemer’s University. He is married to Olabisi and blessed with three sons.
