Dr. Yemi Adewoyin is of the Department of Geography, University of Nigeria (UNN). His academic qualifications include a top-of-the-class BSc (Hons) in Geography and Planning Science from the Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria, and MSc in Geographic Information Systems, a second MSc. in Political Geography and Regional Development, both from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Nigeria. He also holds a PhD with a specialization in Population Health and Regional Development from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, LAUTECH. Before joining the UNN faculty, Yemi had worked as human resources, operations, credit, and administration manager in the Nigerian banking and financial services industry. He combines his eclectic academic and professional backgrounds in teaching and researching the health and political dimensions of regional development. Dr. Adewoyin is a member of the Development Studies Association (UK), Regional Studies Association (UK), the International Geographical Union Commission on Health and the Environment, and the Medical Geography Working Group of the Association of Nigerian Geographers. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Demography and Population Studies Programme, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
