Dr. Adeoye's career in aquaculture dates back to 2009 when he achieved his first degree, a Bachelor in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management (First Class Honours), from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. He quickly followed that with an MSc in Aquaculture Economics in the same University the following year before completing his PhD in 2016 as a Commonwealth Scholar at Plymouth University in England. On completion of his PhD programme in the United Kingdom, Dr. Adeoye returned to his home country where he performs teaching and research roles (Fish Nutrition and Aquaculture) in the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta , Nigeria. Dr. Adeoye is skilled in molecular techniques for profiling fish gut microbiomes and evaluating fish gut health using histology techniques (light and electron microscopy). He is also knowledgeable in fish nutrition, digestive physiology, immunology and gut health as well as in the evaluation of the efficiency of novel feed ingredients and formulated diets for aquaculture species. In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Adeoye also engages very well with aquafeed industry as a well sought-after consultant. Furthermore, he has been and still continues to use the tool of aquaculture to carry out developmental projects on behalf of government and non-governmental, organisations across sub-Saharan Africa.
