Brief Biography (English)

Dr Oladunni Nimota Adekunle is a lecture at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye Ogun State Nigeria. She hold a PhD in Public Health and Parasitology from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. In her years of experience she found that the majority of the neglected tropical diseases prevalent in her country have transmission-cycles mediated by the seed, the sower and the soil. As a budding female researcher, She has been involved in the mapping and diagnosis of infectious disease of public and veterinary importance (including the zoonotic ones) over the past 6 years. Her interest shifted to understanding the interactions of parasites, poverty and socio-cultural practices on health status of the people in tropical and sub-tropical countries 5 years ago. This led to the development of my Doctoral research on “Epidemiology of Lymphatic Filariasis in some communities in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria”. Her first contact with people who showed various manifestations of this disease spurred me into wanting to join hands in overcoming constraints in the control of parasitic diseases majorly.
