Brief Biography (English)

Dr Tom Adejoh is a Radiographer from Nigeria with over 15 years of cognate Clinical experience and over 5 years of Research experience. He worked in public tertiary health institutions in Nigeria for 17 years but now Lectures in the Department of Radiography & Radiation Science, Federal University of  Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Nigeria.

Dr Adejoh is passionate about dose mitigation in computed tomography (CT) and has gone ahead, not just to recommend diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) from empirical studies, but has also been practically involved in CT protocol remediation to consolidate optimization of protection for patients. He had an update course in that regard at ICTP, Trieste-Italy in November 2019. He was an application specialist on direct digital radiography to select radiographers in Ethiopia in 2018, and in Nigeria, he remains an application specialist on CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, and radiography

Currently, Dr Adejoh's interest is shifting to forensic imaging which is still in the infancy stage in subSaharan Africa. Some of his works appear in Journal of Radiological Protection, Radiation Protection Dosimetry, Egyptian Journal of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, West African Journal of Radiology, Journal of Radiography & Radiation Sciences, amongst others.

He has been a Member of the Association of Radiographers of Nigeria (ARN) since 2005 and an erstwhile Chairperson of its Education Committee (EDUCOM). He is also a Member of the International Association of Forensic Radiographers (IAFR) since 2019.
