Dr Elfatih Mohamed Abdel-Rahman is an expert in earth observation tools, remote sensing, and geospatial modeling of land-use dynamics, including crops and cropping systems, and scenario assessment of land-use effects in relation to crop productivity constraints. In specific, his thematic working areas include characterizing and modeling landscape dynamics, assessing ecosystem services, and fragmentation. Dr Abdel-Rahman is highly productive and has published over fifty peer-reviewed research articles and served as a reviewer for about 38 journals. He also successfully supervised six PhD and several MSc students.
Dr Abdel-Rahman received his BSc (Agric, Honours) in 1998 and his MSc (Crop Production) in 2003 from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum. He completed his PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa in 2010. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum.
