Professor Hafsi Abbas is an Algerian scholar specialising in Islamic Sciences and Sharia Law. He is a Professor of Higher Education at the College of Humanities, Islamic Sciences and Civilization at the University of Laghouat, Algeria, where he has served in various academic and administrative roles since 2012. Prof Abbas is the Editor of the international scientific journal "Science and Knowledge Horizons" and leads the Maliki School and its Manuscripts research group at the university. He has held responsibilities as Head of the Department of Islamic Sciences, as well as being a member of the Scientific Committee of the College of Humanities, Islamic Sciences and Civilisation. Prof Abbas obtained his Doctorate in Islamic Sciences with a specialisation in Sharia Law from Oran University, a Master’s degree in Islamic Sciences (Sharia and Law) from the University of Algiers, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Tizi Ouzou. His research interests include Islamic law, jurisprudence, legal theory, Sharia and law, comparative jurisprudence, and the study of Hadith. In addition to his academic work, Prof Abbas has extensive teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, covering subjects such as legal sciences, constitutional law, human rights, jurisprudence, and Qur’anic studies.
