Prof Vincent I. Okudoh completed his MSc and PhD in Industrial Microbiology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa, in 2011. He had 5 years' Experience in the multinational Pharmaceutical industry (Medical Rep, WYETH/Delpitano 1991-1992; Sales Executive, REGENT Pharmaceuticals 1993 - 1996) before joining the academia. Up until 2013, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UKZN and a Member of the African Energy, Food and Water Research (AEFWR) group under Prof Cristina Trois where he initiated a study on the quantification of cassava biomass as a potential feedstock for biogas production. Dr Okudoh has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) since 2013, where he is a Co-PI with the Bio-resource Engineering Research Group (BioERG) and the Chairperson of the CPUT Academics Research Group (CARG). In 2015 he Published a book titled “Biogas Production in Africa: Benefit Potentials of Cassava Biomass” and also Contributed to a Technical Report “The State of Waste to Energy Research in South Africa: A Review” published by SA DoE Renewable Energy Centre for Research and Development (RECORD). Dr Okudoh has Published many Articles in top-rated peer-reviewed Journals and Conference Proceedings. He is a Certificate holder in Anaerobic Digestion from Cranfield University, UK. Dr Okudoh currently owns Waste2Energy Laboratory at CPUT and Supervises several postgraduate students. He is a Nominee of the Research Excellence Award for Early Career/Emerging Researchers and holds an NRF Thuthuka grant as well as THRIP, KIC, etc. Dr Okudoh is a Member of the Golden Key International Honor Society for top academic achievers and Belongs to professional organizations such as the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the Society for Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology (SIMB) and the South African Society for Microbiology (SASM).
