Dr Asmaa Bouaamri, born in Casablanca, Morocco, is a distinguished Librarian, Anthropologist, and Information Scientist. She initially pursued studies in applied mathematics and journalism before transitioning to the field of librarianship and cultural mediation. Dr Bouaamri holds a professional bachelor's degree in Library Science and Book Professions (Métiers du livre) from Hassan II University in Casablanca, Morocco, and a Master’s degree in cultural anthropology from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest, Hungary. She obtained her PhD from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), in the department of Library and Information Science while doing continuous research. Dr Bouaamri has an impressive record of publications, collaborations on book chapters, and participation in various international conferences. Her primary research interests lie in African studies, with a specialisation in libraries, literacy, information literacy, critical information literacy, knowledge management, and sustainable development in libraries, as well as social sciences and other multidisciplinary fields
