 2023 Call for Nominations to the ISC Fellowship The ISC Fellowship gathers eminent scientists, engineers, and science-policy thought-leaders, who have made remarkable contributions to furthering understanding and engagement with science. You can submit a nomination until 15 October 2023; new Fellows will be announced in December 2023. Nominate a Fellow  Share  Forward to a friend Through the Fellowship, the International Science Council seeks individuals to help plug important skills gaps by acting as experts or advisers for ISC projects, programmes, and collaborations. Fellows also act as ambassadors and advocates for the ISC’s work, notably at high-level global events and fora – connecting the Council with influential actors. The ISC Fellowship represents the highest honour that can be conferred on an individual by the Council.The Fellowship currently counts 126 individuals, and subsequent annual calls will build the Fellowship to an anticipated network of 600 active Fellows.  Protecting Science in Times of Crisis: how do we become more proactive? This October, the ISC Centre for Science Futures will publish a Working Paper entitled “Protecting Science in Times of Crisis: How do we stop being reactive, and become proactive?”. The paper takes stock of what the international scientific community learned over the years in supporting refugee and displaced scientists. More importantly, it identifies a series of issues and areas for action that need to be prioritized if we are to become collectively better at protecting scientists, science, and research infrastructures in times of crisis. In anticipation of the publication, the Centre has released a set of infographics capturing some of the key points that will be developed at length in the upcoming paper Be notified of the paper’s release Our pick of top news and events  ISC Global Knowledge Dialogue for Asia and the Pacific region The next ISC Global Knowledge Dialogue will be held in Malaysia on 6 October. The event will gather leading researchers and policymakers from Asia and the Pacific to shape the work of the ISC Regional Focal Point office, hosted within the Australian Academy of Science, and strengthen the voice of science in the region.
