It is almost time for QUEST: Science for South Africa to start working on the next edition of QUEST, the official quarterly publication of the the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf), which will be published at the end of December/beginning of January 2024.

As such, QUEST is putting out a call for article submissions to relevant South African Universities and research institutions (space permitting). Article(s) can be submitted to Quest-Editor@assaf.org.za

This is a chance to popularise the latest research from your organisation by submitting a popular article (700 to 1 000 words) by your scientist/s or researcher/s, for a deadline of Monday 6 November. Articles to QUEST are aimed at Grade 10-12 learners – both print and online (https://questonline.org.za/). The articles are text-light and photos/infographics/visuals are preferred. ORCID of researchers can be included.

The next edition is dedicated to the theme “The economy, and you” with a focus on making the economy, business and personal finance understandable for younger South Africans. What are the best ways to save money or invest? How do interest rates work? How can I start a small business? Why is tax so hard? What are the best tips for creating long-term wealth?

Please note, however, the submissions do not necessarily have to be tied to the theme and can be on any new South African science (for our features section).

QUEST is looking forward to hearing from you and to discuss potential article topics.
