The 4th Africa Regional Workshop  of the International Association for Social Science Information Services and Technology (IASSIST), an international organization of professionals working with information technology and data services to support research and teaching in collaboration with the Parliament of Kenya will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 23rd  to 26th  October 2024. The workshop will be an event with in-person meetings in Nairobi, Kenya.

Submitting Abstracts – DEADLINE: 1st August 2024

We welcome submissions for presentations, paper and posters. The theme of this year’s Workshop is” Transforming Africa Through Innovations, Governance and Sustainable Development” 

Submissions from data professionals on the following topics will be prioritized:

ii) AI and Machine Learning in African Development

iii) Data Management, Legislation and Governance

iv) Data-driven Public Service Delivery

v) Data Management, Climate Change, and Food Security

vi) Data Privacy, Protection and Management in Research

vii) Open Data and Transparency

viii) Libraries, Indigenous, Knowledge, and Open Science

ix) Innovative practices in research data management – new methods, technologies, and approaches

x) Collaborative Data Platforms

xi) Data archiving, discovery, access, and metadata
