Brief Biography (English)

In recent times, all life forms face continuous and rapid environmental change, either directly or indirectly attributable to human activities. Understanding how different organisms respond to these changes is topical and extensively researched. Dr Melinda Boyers has a keen interest in the effects of global change on various aspects of biodiversity (structure, function and composition) and how these impacts translate to system level responses at different scales of observation. She would like to understand proximate and ultimate threats to biodiversity and to understand the drivers or mechanisms, the causes and consequences of species behaviour and distribution across landscapes. She has a keen interest in modelling behavioural and spatial ecology and the ability to link that to physiological ecology as well conservation management.
